Virta Hub shows your pools on a map in two places: the map view in the station list and the Map page. In the map view, the list and the map sit side by side on one page. Use the map view in the station list to find and check stations by location. This makes firmware updates and maintenance planning faster.
Both views are under Stations in the sidebar. All stations opens the station list with the map view. Map, directly below it, opens the separate Map page.
1. Map View in the Station List
The map view shows your pools on a map beside the station list. Click a pool on the map to see it in the list. The map follows your filters and search.
How to Open the Map View
- In Virta Hub, open Stations, then All stations.
- At the top of the page, find the view switch next to the Add button. It has two icons: a list and a map pin.
- Click the map pin icon. The map opens beside the list.
- Click the list icon to show the list only.
How to Pick a Pool on the Map
The map shows your pools as markers. Where pools are close together, the map groups them into a cluster with a number. Zoom in to see the individual pools.
- Click a marker on the map. The list now shows only the pools of that marker.
- Check or edit the pools in the list as usual.
- To see every pool again, click the map background or click Show all pools on this page.
How to Resize the List and the Map
A divider with three dots sits between the list and the map.
- Click and hold the divider.
- Drag it left to give the map more room, or right to give the list more room.
- Release the divider.
Virta Hub remembers the divider position for next time.
How to Expand the Map to Fill the Page
You can hide the list and use the map on its own.
- Click the expand button in the top-right corner of the map. It shows two arrows pointing outwards. The list is hidden and the map fills the page.
- Click a marker. Its pools now open in a popup, because the list is hidden.
- To bring the list back, click the same button in the top-right corner of the map. It now shows two arrows pointing inwards.
What the Marker Colours Mean
Each marker shows the status of the charging points of the pool by colour.
- Green: Available
- Orange: Attention (maintenance or in deployment)
- Blue: In Use
- Red: Out of service, Error
- Grey: Offline, Unknown, Archived
For more about each status, see Understanding and managing charging station statuses.
Good to Know
- Filters and search apply to the map. The map shows the same pools as the list. Use Reset filters to clear them.
- Pools without coordinates are not shown on the map. A message above the map tells you how many there are. Add coordinates to these pools to show them on the map.
- Sub-organisations. Use the sub-organisation selector on the map to include or exclude pools of your sub-organisations.
- Your choice is remembered. Virta Hub opens the list or the map, whichever you used last.
- Take the guided tour. Open the help panel with the question mark in the top bar. Under Guided tours, start Map view of the station list. The release note is under What's new.
2. The Map Page
The Map page shows your pools on an interactive map, on a page of its own. It does not show the station list beside the map.
How to Open the Map Page
- In Virta Hub, open Stations.
- Click Map. It is directly below All stations.
If your organisation has more than 10 pools, the Map page shows a full-screen interactive map. If your organisation has fewer than 10 pools, it shows static map tiles to make navigation easier.
What Is on the Map Page
The map shows the locations of your pools. Where several pools are close together, the map groups them into a cluster. The cluster shows how many pools it contains.
- Click a cluster to zoom in. Keep clicking until the cluster splits into individual pools.
- Markers get bigger as you zoom in and smaller as you zoom out.
Pools need correct coordinates to show on the map. To add or fix them, see How to Manage and Edit Your Charging Station Pools.
How to Search for a Pool
Use the search field to find a pool. You can search by most pool and station details, for example name, ID, identity or address. The map shows the pools that match your search.
How to Open a Pool from the Map
- Find the pool on the map or with the search.
- Hover over the pool marker.
- Click the arrow next to the marker. The pool view opens.
- Edit the pool's information or one of its stations.
