How to Edit Charging Station's Information

To edit a station or EVSE, select it in map view or in the all stations list.

Note: if you're not sure which station or EVSE you're looking for, the search function will help you find it by entering, for example, the ID or name of the station or EVSE.

Once selected, you will see the option to edit the station.

Basic Information

The Basic Information tab shows the station's core details. Some fields can be edited, others are for reference only.

Available to view, but not edit:

  • Identity
  • Organisation (automatically inherited from the pool selection)
  • Energy management compatibility status
  • Location ID (deprecated)
  • Model
  • Manufacturer
  • Software version
  • Protocol version

You can edit:

  • The pool it belongs to
  • Electrical feed
  • Eichrecht compliance (SAFE or SAM, depending on how your station reports metering data)

Per charging point

Each station lists its charging points (EVSEs). Expand a charging point to view and edit its individual settings, still within the Basic Information tab.

Available to view, but not edit:

  • Charge point ID
  • EVSE-ID prefix
  • Voltage

You can edit:

  • Name
  • Custom EVSE-ID
  • Maximum power and current
  • Installed phases

Note: changing the maximum power, current, or installed phases updates the station's configuration. These become the values used by any connected energy management services.

Connector-level details can be edited separately, using the Edit charging point's connectors option.

Additional Information

In the Additional information tab, you can edit the following for each charging point:

  • Physical reference: a short code (up to 16 characters) that identifies a specific EVSE at a location with multiple chargers. It is shown both in the Virta Hub and physically on the charger itself, so drivers can match what they see on site to the right EVSE.
  • Capabilities: for example charging settings, QR code payment, reservation support, or an RFID reader
  • Other properties: free text, for example Eichrecht
  • Other location information: free text, for example how to access the charging point on site

Use Copy to all to apply these settings to every charging point at the station.

Action tab

From the Actions tab, you can:

  • Update the station's firmware
  • Archive the station
