Let's start:
1. Fleet Reservation Overview
Designed as an additional service, Fleet Reservation equips fleet managers with the tools to pre-book charging points, enhancing operational readiness and minimizing downtime for drivers.
The Fleet Reservation feature streamlines charging logistics by allowing fleets to plan ahead, ensuring charging points are available precisely when needed. By securing a reserved spot, drivers gain assurance, reducing downtime and potential delays. Furthermore, this feature grants fleet managers enhanced control and visibility over charging operations, facilitating improved planning and resource allocation.
Reservations are conveniently managed through Virta Hub.
2. Feature Limitations and Requirements
It's important to note that:
- Reservations can only be made up to 12 hours in advance and have a maximum duration of 12 hours.
- Additionally, the Heavy-duty Reservation feature may be applicable only to specific charging stations within the Virta network.
- Drivers are limited to using RFID as an authentication method to start and stop charging sessions.
- Reservations are visible through the app and can be managed in the Virta Hub.
3. Creating a New Reservation
To create a new reservation, follow these simple steps:
Log in to the Virta Hub and navigate to the “Drivers” tab.
Select the driver you would like to make the reservation for.
On the right side of the page, click “Add reservation,” which is available under “Available actions.”
Please fill in the required information to specify your reservation details. Then, enter the charging point ID or name to easily select the station you want to reserve.
You can now see all the stations that can be reserved for your fleet.
To confirm your reservation, simply click “Start reservation.”
The reservation is now visible in the driver’s Basic information tab.
Available reservation information includes the name and address of the charging point, the location of the charging point, the duration of the reservation, and the start time of the reservation.
4. Ending the Existing Reservation
The reservation will automatically end once the driver initiates the charging session.
To end a reservation from Virta Hub, simply choose the ongoing reservation from the driver’s “Basic information” page.
On the right side of the page, click on the button “Stop reservation”. To confirm, click “Stop reservation” on the pop-up notification.
The reservation will be terminated immediately.
5. Accessing a Log of Previous Reservations
You can view the record of the drivers' previous reservations on Virta Hub.
To access the log, select the driver “Charging activity” tab from the driver’s profile page.
This will display all charging activity details, including the duration, start time, end time, and reservation information.
6. Checking Station's Availability
To check if a station is reserved, simply open the Virta Hub or your mobile app and view the station's status. You'll see whether it's free to reserve, as demonstrated below.
7. Troubleshooting
Here are some tips to address the most common problems:
For Drivers
-
Using the Wrong Charging/RFID Tag
Please make sure the charging (RFID) tag you registered for your reservation matches. If it doesn't, please update your RFID details or contact our support. -
Late Arrival for Reservation
Please double-check your reservation time and try to be there as planned. If you arrive late, the reservation will expire. You can simply rebook the next available time or look for another station through the app.
For Reservation Operator
-
The station does not support reservation
Please confirm that the station has reservation capabilities and keep your station information up-to-date. A clear sign at the station to indicate whether reservations are possible would also be helpful. -
Selecting the Wrong RFID Tag
Please verify that the FRID tag in use corresponds with the one in your operator system. It's a good idea to ask your staff to check RFID details before making any reservations.
That's it. You now covered the values that fleet reservations add to your operations, including the limitations and requirements. You know how to initiate a reservation, how to cancel one, and how to keep track of past reservations. You can now optimize your fleet management and enhance your operational efficiency.
