Hello and welcome!

We will cover the following topics:

  1. Virta public and private stations
  2. How to set an organisation as private
  3. How to grant access to your private chargers

  4. How to manage One-Time Payment (OTP)

Let's start!

1. VIRTA PUBLIC AND PRIVATE STATIONS

At Virta, we provide two types of charging options to suit your specific needs:

  1. Virta public stations:

By default, your charging points are set to public. Only public stations are eligible for roaming. Virta public stations are accessible to all EV drivers. They are listed on our charging stations map, widely used by thousands of EV drivers to locate your charging points easily.

      2. Virta private stations:

Private stations are designed for locations that require restricted access, such as residential or office buildings. If you opt for a private station, it will only be visible on the station map for customers who have authorised access.

To make your chargers private and restrict accessibility, you have two options:

  1. Set your entire organisation as private.
By modifying your organisation from public to private, you can ensure that all your chargers are restricted.
  2. Create a new organisation and set it as private.
If you only want specific chargers to be private, you can create a new organisation and set it as private. This way, only the chargers within that organisation will have limited accessibility.

In either case, setting up a private organisation is necessary to control the accessibility of your chargers.

2. HOW TO SET AN ORGANISATION AS PRIVATE

In the Virta Hub, charging station visibility is managed at the organisational level. Instead of setting each charger individually as public or private, you can make that decision for your charging point operator (CPO) all in one place. This simplifies the process and allows you to control the publicity of your chargers more efficiently. To make your organisation private, follow these simple steps:

  • Login to the Virta Hub
  • Navigate to the "Stations" tab.
  • Click on "Access management". You can manage and limit access to your chargers through this field.
  • Your organisation is set as public by default.

  • In the "Change Access Type" field, check the option for "Private."
  • Click on "Update Preferences" to save the changes.

If you want to switch back to the public, you can follow the same procedure and check the option for "Public" and update preferences.

That's it! You have successfully set your organization as private. Now that your organisation is private, you can grant access to the authorised drivers for your chargers. Here's how to do it:

3. HOW TO GRANT ACCESS TO YOUR PRIVATE CHARGERS

You can manage and limit access to your chargers through the "Access management" field, on the "Stations" tab.

Here, you can see the list of all Authorised drivers, including their names, email addresses, the date they were added, who authorised them, and their Status.

Access is granted to all driver accounts with the provided e-mail address. To grant access to a new driver:

  • Add the driver's email address.
  • Confirm their consent to share personal information by clicking the box on the right.
  • Click "Add driver".

You can also make modifications by selecting "Revoke access" and confirm it.

4. HOW TO MANAGE ONE-TIME PAYMENT (OTP)

You can easily manage OTP following these rules:

  • Switching to Private: When an organization changes from public to private, OTP for all charging pools and charging points will be disabled.

  • Switching to Public: When an organization changes from private to public, OTP for all charging pools and charging points will be enabled.

  • Adding New Pools: When adding a new charging pool to a private organization, OTP will be disabled by default.

That's it! You've now learned how to give others access to your charging points, and easily manage and customise that access according to your preferences.
