What is the max fuse capacity, and why is it important?

A fuse is a safety device that protects electrical circuits when there is too much current flow, it prevents damage to the stations and avoid electrical accidents. All the stations in an electrical feed use a determined amount of current to charge the EVs. However, it’s important to know which the max fuse capacity to avoid going over the limit when all the stations are charging simultaneously. If the sum of all the station's current exceeds the max fuse capacity, we recommend activating the dynamic load management (DLM) service.

    • NOTE: The max fuse capacity field on the electrical feeds in Virta Hub is not linked to DLM in Energy at the moment. However, it can be used as a reference when creating DLM groups.

Where to find the fuse capacity on your site?

The fuse capacity can be found written on the fuse inside the fuse box or electricity panels. The values are measured in amps (A).
