Stations compatibility with Virta energy management services is hardware dependent. Virta Energy Services will work with Tier 1 stations that have the preconfigured Virta settings. Any changes to these settings will interfere with energy services, such as tampering with meter value configurations or changing the OCPP protocol from 1.6 to 1.5. The compatibility of other stations depends on their integration with Virta Energy Services and their ability to work with configuration messages, smart charging profiles and communication operating with OCPP 1.6.
There are three categories of compatibility with energy services:
-
-
Full support:
- Dynamic Load Management (DLM)*
- Adaptive Load Management (ALM)
- Virta Preconnect
- Virta Priority
- Congestion Management

- Not supported: Not compatible with any energy management services.
Note:
Stations that do not support energy management services have basic OCPP integration that only allows control of basic actions such as start charging, stopping charging, release a cable or reboot a station. However, it is not possible to configure the station energy settings without the integration of energy services. Therefore, any changes on the user interface will not match the station configuration. To request a station integration, contact Virta Sales.
* DC DLM is the only service available for DC stations at the moment.
