Your Virta account balance is automatically topped up when the balance is less than 10 euros. When starting a charging session with an account balance of less than 10 euros, a 30 euro topup is transferred from your payment card to your Virta account. Please note that in order for the topup to work there must be a valid payment card linked to your Virta account.
You can also manually add account balance through the customer portal. Log in to the customer portal with your credentials and on the main page you will see a button for adding balance. You can choose the desired amount and proceed after which the amount is transferred from your payment card to your Virta account.
PLEASE NOTE: Virta only triggers one automated top-up when you start charging. This can lead to a situation, where the balance of your charging account is less than 10€ and starting the charging session fails. When you try to start charging again, we trigger a second top-up increasing your balance and you are able to charge. For example, you balance is -25€ and you try to start charging. Virta automatically tops-up your account with 30€ resulting in a balance of 5€. Since the balance is less than the amount that triggers a top-up (10€ with Virta) the charge wont start. When you try starting a charge a second time, we make another top up of 30€ resulting in a balance of 35€ and the charging session starts normally.
